Short History

The Department of Applied Chemistry was established in the year 1922.The Applied Chemistry Department started offering three-year B.Tech degree in ‘Plastics and Rubber technology from 1968. The Department was trifurcated to three separate departments, i.e. Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Chemical Technology and Department of Plastics and Rubber Technology in 1982. The name of the department was changed to Department of Polymer Science and Technology in the year 1997.
